If you are wanting a “hands on” experience at this traditional craft with stained glass and mirrors, then this is the course for you, it’s your opportunity to learn key skills to begin a new glass hobby at home or for a business.

What does the course cover?
This One day provides a practical look at making a small traditional stained-glass panel.
How and why choosing the right glass is important and there is plenty of beautiful glass to choose from.
- Understand how and why a pattern is formed within certain criteria
- How to Cut your selected glass … and why certain “cuts” cant be made by hand!
- Choices of lead came or copper foil and their suitability, strength & weaknesses
- How to cut and place your lead came within your design template
- The soldering process
- Cementing & Polishing completing a stained-glass mirror to take home.
Use your own design or one of our many that will be made available on the day.
The completed stained-glass light-catcher or mirror will be approximately 12″ x 12″.
Note: This course involves working with lead and for safety reasons note that Lead is Toxic and pregnant women are strongly advised to stay away from stained glass activities.
What do I need to bring?
Nothing but your friendly self and a sturdy pair of closed-toed shoes.
All materials & tools are provided.
Lunch:
We have a small break at 12:30 for 30 minutes …. so bring a pack lunch! Teas & Coffees will be available throughout the day.
What are the course times?
The course starts at 10am and finishes by 4pm(ish).

Glass workshops will be held in THE GLASS GARDEN STUDIO which is located behind our bungalow called “Lorna Doone”, White Ox Mead Lane, Peasedown St John BA2 8PJ …. you need to drive down Eckweek Lane and we are behind the white bungalow just by the mini roundabout.
